Garmin nuvi 755T GPS Navigator

The Garmin 755T is another addition to Garmin's reliable line of car GPS. It includes several new features along with a host of valuable specs that do far more than simply get travelers from point A to point B. The most significant new feature is lifetime subscription-free traffic updates. With the introduction of the new nuvi 755T, Garmin has switched from Clear Channel's TTN (Total Traffic Network) to Navteq traffic.

Product Overview

The easy to use interface that Garmin is rather well known for is enhanced by the 4.3 inch, anti-glare touchscreen display of the Garmin 755T that automatically adjusts itself for ease of viewing in both dim and bright light.

Users have a choice of either 2D or 3D perspectives with the latter choice offering life-like views and realistic representations of buildings, landmarks, and various properties. While the unit is definitely slim and sleek with its pocket style engineering, it's still large enough so that the touchscreen's icons are easily accessed and spaced a decent distant apart from one another because of the widescreen design.

Included with the purchase are the quick start manual, USB cable, vehicle power cable and suction cup mount, dashboard disc, travel guides, and optional software for translating into different languages.

Notable Benefits and Features

Garmin hasn't left much out when it comes to the Nuvi 755T's list of useful benefits and features, and like all of its models, this one comes preloaded with more than six million points of interest (POI) that include everything from amusement parks to zoos and capabilities for adding your own customized POI. Also included are the preloaded maps of the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico, making travel all throughout North America a breeze.

With the new Garmin Connect Photos feature that's powered by Panoramio, users can share their destinations with others online and get to their destinations by viewing geo-located photos downloaded to the Nuvi 755T. And to utilize this feature, your home computer must have Internet Explorer 6.0, Firefox 2, or Safari 3 or higher.

The Lane Guidance feature by Garmin, which is built in to all of their 7x5 series of portable GPS, takes the question out of which lane you should be in when traveling through unfamiliar or confusing territories. On the display, you will be able to see not only which lane to get into for upcoming turns, but also thanks to the Lane Assist Junction feature in 3D, you'll also be able to see details from the actual road you are on as well as the traffic signs in a rather realistic view.

The Garmin 755T has an integrated GTM 20 FM traffic receiver and includes free traffic updates for the entire life of the unit, making it simple to avoid congestion and back-ups on highways wherever you travel and allowing you to forget about subscription fees to traffic services. And, if a surprise detour isn't picked up by the system and you end up on an unfamiliar road, the device will be able to get you back on track with its innovative automatic routing system that leaves the driver free to concentrate on the road ahead.

Save the directions to up to ten different places with the Multi-Destination Routing feature that allows you to store the most efficient routes possible, and with the HotFix capability feature, satellite locations and signals are also stored and quickly calculated, making waiting for the unit to get a fix on your exact location a thing of the past. Also, when traveling through different time zones, the unit will automatically set the correct time using the Automatic Time Zone Transition feature.

Other notable features of the Garmin Nuvi 755T are the myriad of travel tools included like the currency and measurement converters, calculator, and the world travel clock complete with time zones. The unit also serves as a JPEG picture viewer and an MP3 player with the audio playing through the car's very own stereo system.
